    Tour de France?

    Is anyone watching?

I have caught some of the race every day for the last two weeks.

    Amazing.....

If you like car races, watch!

If you have ever ridden a bike watch!

If you have ever crashed a bike watch!

The final sprints have been wonderful.
    Teamwork? Outstanding!

    Boonen is a monster!
    Zabel? An old favorite.

    The best TdF yet!

Richard will answer you when he reads this, I'm sure, but I think he means
it to be a compliment. Sometimes bad=good in American slang.

Richard, I think watching a bike race on TV is like watching golf on Tv,
    BORING.

You want BORING? Try watching televised lawn bowling....

Saw a clip from the Tour when a Yellow Lab was wandering across the track, and a cyclist went a-over-t bumping into him. Dog wasn't hurt, thank God, nor was the cyclist - but the owner was RIGHT THERE, cause he wandered off with his dog when the dog ran a little ways from the track.

    IDIOT.

    IDIOT.

Our local sports announcers kept showing that clip over & over.
    I winced everytime. Poor pup.

A couple of months ago I was driving into town and was behind a cyclist for a few corners before I could safely go past. Our area is modestly hilly and this guy was struggling with one of the slopes. He would not have been quite so conspicuous had he not been wearing his spotty "King of the Mountains" shirt.

Not sure whether it was supposed to inspire him, or whether he was just being ironic, but it certainly gave me a good laugh.

    Oh, it's all good!

He's tall and strong. His sprints are amazing. The way he stands ups and put the power to the pedals. Only someone who is not human can do that.....So he must be a monster!

    ---------------

    Liz,

196 guys on bikes is boring.

    It's all tactical racing.

    Here's a little primer.

    Each team has different positions.

The domestiques are the 'everyday' riders-they have many jobs.

To lead their stars or captains as wind breakers (no not farting) Like car racing, they let their teammates draft to save energy.

Sprinters- They are their at the end of the race to try and secure the stage win. THey also have sprint races within the stages, sprinters win points to get the GREEN jersey

Mountain men- not the tech term. Another part of the team. Polka dot jersey.

Stars or Captains. They are the main men on the team. THe rest of the racers are there to make sure he wins.

During the race there are many things to watch for. Some domestics will
try and run away from the peleton (main groiup)- their capt. will hang back while the rest of the group chases the breakaway.

If you sit and watch a race -listen to the announcers - they are helpful.

    KK,

Sure it wasn't the "Queen of the Hills"?

Here in Cah lee fuh nee ah we have the same people on the same strange rides.

During the summer you always see an ersatz Yellow Jersey in the road.

I had a YJ run the stop sign in front of me...He flips me the finger when I honked at him so I followed to make sure he did know I was number 1.

When I got ahead of him I pulled over and sat on the hood of my truck....As he got closer he was more interested in his front tire than me.....I wanted to yell something really harsh.

As he passed I couldn't help my self.....

"Hey, the Tour is over, Stupid."

Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all -

    Divided we fall.

    I laugh, therefore? I am.

No humans were hurt during the posting of this message.

You can follow all that on a TV screen? How big is your screen?
I'm afraid I'd miss all the finer points of bike racing.

That's the only part of the Tour I saw too - the Lab. Poor thing. Glad he was okay and glad the biker was okay (though his front wheel got smushed).
I love Fenway, JoJo, Olivia and Nonnie!

You have to get real close to the screen, then you can see what is going on outside the frame.

I you have watched the last two nights you would have seen, The man in the chicken suit, The guy in the red string thong.....I was impressed, YOU have to have bits to wear that and run next to a guy on a bike.

Last night Ramsussen and Contador has a little diasgreement on who should go first! Gentlemen, always!

THAT WAS JUST THE LAST NINE MILES.

And tonight there were two more male arses on when two guys mooned the camera!

Have to see the finish! Bye!

I guess you can dress in Speedos, wrap a flag around your shoulders and chase bike riders up the mountains during the TdF.

God, after a magnificent ride yesterday, Vinkurov gets jacked for a blood transfusion violation...

    How stupid!
