I have a question. Can a cat get ringworm? My little sister has it for awhile. According to the doctor, it isn't contagious anymore, but could Snow still of gotten it?
Thanks so much for reading this.
Ringworm is highly contagious. If your little sister handled the kitty while she was in the early stages, the cat could also get it. It takes approximately 2-3 weeks from exposure to the time you see the rash, a round, raised red bump.

Ringworm is a cousin to the fungus Athlete's foot. It tends to show up in our hospital more often during warm humid weather (several cases just this week). Yes cats, dogs, and people can get it. It depends on the individual whether they get it or not. Frequent hand washing, and washing of bedding helps cut down exposure.
Our head vet has been practicing for about 30 years and has gotten it twice, one assistant has been there for 12 years and has gotten it once, one assistant been there 4 years gotten it once, I've been there for 6 1/2 years and have never gotten it, the rest have never gotten it either (various lengths of time there). I think it depends on the individual immune system.
