I'm not exactly sure what a "vita light" is. Probably a brand name for a UV reptile light? If so, yes, it's a good idea.

Tree-dwelling reptiles need heat that comes from above, just like the rays of the sun. The best way to do it is to put the light at one end of the cage, creating a warm place for them to bask in the light. But, the other end of the cage should be cooler, so they can get out of the light/heat if they want to.

It's also very, very important, as you probably know, that you keep the humidity high in their cage. They drink water off leaves in the wild, never coming down out of the trees. So, this is their natural way of getting moisture. They get some from the crickets they eat, too, but it's VERY important that you spray the plants in their cage several times a day to keep it humid in the cage and to give them a drink. If they are too dry they not only get dehydrated and can't digest their food properly, but they also have a hard time shedding their skin.

We keep our snake in the bathroom because, in addition to gettting sprayed with water several times a day, he also enjoys the humditiy whenever someone takes a shower.

Anoles should have a full-spectrum UV light...
