Documenta 12 impressions (attempt in street photography)

Was in Kassel today where the art exhibition Documenta 12 has recently opened its gates. No idea if you ever heard about Documenta, but it always draws art fans and artists from all over the world to Kassel, which is very close to my hometime.

I did not visit the exhibition itself, but walked the public places today to capture the atmosphere. I like the international flair that you can find in Kassel these days, you can hear many different languages when you pass by all these groups of people. And some pieces of art are outside the halls, like the "poppy fields" and the pavillon made of Asian doors which came down during a recent storm, and the artist decided not to rebilud it because he liked what nature has down to his work.

Thought I'd share some of these impressions with you.

I know, I'm not very experienced in street photography, but events like this are a good occasion to learn...

Wow, Kirsten! I love your photographs. there is so much to look at in each of these. For example - on my second time through I noticed that the little girl in the garden is also holding her doll under her arm.

    Thanks!

cassiesmom, the one with the little girl is one of my favorites. I took the photo from a distance from where I couldn't even see that she was holding a doll. When I had it on my computer later, I was surprised to see this detail, and I think it's sort of special.
