My first horse show of the year is tomorrow!It's a very small show, but it should be a blast anyways. They don't have very many classes, so I'll only be in about 7 classes, but some of them more than once (for teams). Here is my class list. . I'll try to explain the class for those who don't know what they are:
Bareback Ride a Five - ride your horse without a saddle with $5 under your leg. As the class progresses you pull out our money a little further. If your $5 falls out you are out and they collect your $5. Whoever is the last person with the $5 under their leg wins all the money.
Barrles - Run around three barrels in a specific pattern
Keyhole - Poles are set up, and you run straight through them, stop, turn around and run back
Pole Bending - Run to the end, weave through the poles back, and turn around and weave back up, and then run home
Team Tandem Sack Race - Two horses and riders, you each take one end of the sack and run around the arena twice. You cannot drop the sack so you better hope your horses like eachother and are willing to run side by side!!
Team Pony Express Race - Two horses and riders, one rider starts at the gate and the other waits on the other end of the arena. First rider has a stick and you run it down to the other rider who runs it back.
Team Rescue Race - Two riders ONE horse, Horse and rider start at the gate while horseless person waits at the other end. Rider races horse down to opposite end and the horseless person jumps on (preferably while the horse is still loping) and you race back home.
I will most likely be doing the 3 team classes twice, once with my friend Cassie, and once with my friend Matt, which should be fun!! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures, and hopefully my sister can get some pictures of me racing!
