Ruffles Good Report Post #22!

Seems like it my turn to pay my vet's mortgage this week.

Noticed Ruffels wasn't feeling well yesterday afternoon. This morning, she spent 2 HOURS sitting in front of the water bowl. Ok, off we go to the vet.

She was very dehydrated and they gave her fluids. Took blood and we just got the results back. Kidneys look FINE! Diabetes, no issue. White blood cell count, normal can go as high as 18, she is at 38!!!

It could be an infection "somewhere," we don't know where. Will put her on antibiotics for a week - Baytril - and then retest. But vet thinks cancer is more likely, probably a lymphoma.

Ruffles is 16 and has lived with us 4 years. She was 12 pounds when she arrived. Today she is at 6 pounds. She has lost a pound every three months for the last 6 months -- lost 2 pounds in 6 months. Not good.

She is on tapazole for low thyroid. We will test that in a week when we retest the white cell count. We couldn't test thyroid today, as Mom forgot to give Ruffles her pill for 2 days what with grieving over Billy.

As I was going in to the vet anyhow, I took Ebony for her annual. She was her usual composed self, such a good girl. No issues with her.

So Ruffles would appreciate any PPT prayers sent her way. Thanks all.

Thanks everyone. Ruffles has done nothing but sleep since we returned from the vet visit 9 hours ago. Normally she'd be up and about, demanding food at least twice during this time. Sigh.

At least she is easy to give pills. Now to keep on schedule and pray that they help her.
