    Marking His Territory

MARKING HIS TERRITORY?? I adopted a newfoundland mix from a local rescue. We were told that Haus is a year old. He is the perfect dog with one exception. He is lifting his leg to pee. On my child's bed, on our sofa, on our bed. Haus is neutured, but not sure if this matters.

Maybe Haus is younger than we were told and not yet housebroken. I want to work with him to break this habit, but really need some advice.
    thanks for your help

    Haus

    Hello,

have you already taken Haus to a vet? I would highly recommend that to see if he is suffering from anything organic.

What you can do anyway is take him outside whenever he pees somewhere inside and - that is very important - do it the moment you catch him, otherwise it has no effect. Do not make many words, just take him out and let him pee there, then give him a reward and go back inside.

If you need more help just write back. The more details you can give me the better i can imagine the situation.

In the meantime i wish you all the best

    Michael
