    Apples

Hi.. I have a 7 month Shitzu and her name is Lily. She seems to vomit yellow bile first thing in the morning. It isn't every day but at least 3 times a week.
I have had her to the vet but he can't seem to find anything wrong with her.
He has had me take her off her food and treats then add them back to see when she does vomit. Anyway my question is are apples ok to give her as a treat when training her instead of the store bought treats that are packed with fats and who knows what else.?
    Anyone have any ideas
    Thanks
    Linda

Try giving a large store bought treat loaded with fats and who knows what else, or even a small meal of dry dog food (again loaded with fats and who knows what else) at night before bedtime.

It's not uncommon for growing puppies to digest their last meal quickly emptying out their stomach, which leads to a build up of stomach acid during the night, and some nausea the next morning. They eventually outgrow it.

I got into the habit of giving my two a commercial peanut butter/ apple dog treat (loaded again with fats and who knows what else) at night because little Barney was throwing up bile in the morning. It worked. Now 4 yrs later they rush upstairs and wait for their treat every night. Spoiled.

P.S. Don't know of anything wrong with Apples. Apple seeds have a tiny bit of cynanide in them.

You dog is small and her stomach is getting empty with acid building up. She just needs to eat a bit later at night before bed, OR have something to chew on over night.

Apples, carrots and sweet potatoes (all 3 raw) are wonderful dog treats!

But as mentioned above, something with a bit of fat will be better for this issue. The fat slows the digestion process and keeps something in her tummy for a bit longer.

I can't believe a vet actually saw her THREE TIMES and likely charged you THREE TIMES for this!

she may do better as she grows; but she is a small breed and sometimes you just have to plan to give them something later in the evening. Sugar LOVES her peanut butter treat each evening! I buy Teddy's Old Fashioned Peanut Butter, unsalted. It is all natural, so you aren't introducing any preservatives and such; it does have to be refrigerated after opening. I take a little clump - like a small tiny meatball - and give her that on my way to bed. YUM! Our problem was solved.

I hope yours can be solved easily, as well!

Thanks for your advise. I will get her some natural peanut butter and a couple good fat bones and make sure that she has a little bit in her tummy before bed.
I have been giving her apples but I will mix it up with a few other things.
And yes the Vet did charge me for each visit.. Now I feel ripped off.
    Thanks again
