    A Catch Up

Thought I’d catch you all up in one post. It’s been a rough year so far with me being sick almost the entire time. I’m still dealing with issues and haven’t really gotten any answers yet. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow with a new specialist and hope to find out more then. Until then, it’s still a waiting game for me. I am feeling better, but I’m still not feeling right.

Gable and Garbo are really growing up now. We had them fixed a couple weeks ago and both are doing really well. Gable is quite the lover and seems to “romance” us all the time. He cannot get close enough to you and will lie in your arms for hours. Garbo is also a lover, but just not as often. Sable (mom cat) has attached herself to me and what a wonderful cat she is. She has the best disposition and I just cannot understand how someone just dumped this gem in the park.

Chowder is quite the character. He has been adopted by Sable, Gable, and Garbo and never leaves their sides. When Gable and Garbo were at the vets being fixed he went crazy looking for them. We felt so bad for Chowder. He ran from room to room to room in a panic. Finally he would lay down by my side and never leave it. When they returned he was ecstatic.

LarryJerry developed a severe ear infection. He now has a drainage tube in his ear that Kevin has to drain daily for a few weeks. We cannot figure out how this developed so severely in such a short time. It must have been festering for awhile with him showing no symptoms until it was bad. Otherwise the rest of our group is doing well, thank goodness!

We discovered 2 new kittens in the park this past week. Sadly we’ll just have to watch over them, trap and fix them when it’s time, and release back to the park. We cannot take anymore in, and I realized this after being so ill. Our shelters are totally filled and were even on the news this week saying how they’re overflowing with cats/kittens. At least these kittens will be cared for as best as possible by us.

That’s about all for us. I’m sorry I’ve missed so many of your posts but have had little energy or desire to do much of anything. I will try and catch-up on the more recent ones in the next few days. Thanks for reading/listening.

Oh Lisa, fingers crossed and prayers on the way that this new doc is able to pinpoint what is going on with you. Nothings worse then being sick and not knowing why. I glad to know that you are feeling better though.
Please let us know what this new doc has to say and I hope it isn't a disappointment to you.

I'm happy to hear that Sable, Gable, Garbo and Chowder are doing well and pray that LarryJerry gets well very soon.

Thanks so much for posting this, Lisa!! You both are doing such a good job by taking care of those strays . Here in Belgium all shelters are full too; there was a commentary on TV, showing how they have to put several cats or dogs together because so many new ones are coming in... .

Take good care of yourself, okay I hope that the docs can tell you what's wrong this time. Knowing what you have is the first step to recovery

Lisa - I really hope an answer comes soon, especially now that the docs know what it isn't!

Just post when you can - will look forward to news from you.

Hug that lovely cat family for me.

    Prayers heading your way!

Thanks to all of you with your well wishes and concerns. I really appreciate it. This last Dr. was SO much better and is digging into the problem vs. masking it with pain medication. The good news is she is not concerned about the area on the lung and feels it's from the pneumonia. She also said it may have been viral pneumonia instead of bacterial which takes longer to clear. Another problem she feels I may be dealing with is Asthma. She gave me a shot for inflammation and said I should feel better within a day. If I do, then most likely I am dealing with it. If I don't, then they will be checking into heart disease and other things. I feel much better mentally knowing this most likely is nothing life threatening, but something that took some time to get over and could possibly be lingering due to other issues. I go back in 3 weeks for a follow-up. She also wants another CT scan in a couple months to see how things look. I walked in her office at 12:30 and walked out at 2:30. The whole time was spent with her discussing my past health history, my recent symptoms, and how she will help me. She said I do not have to feel like this the rest of my life. I do believe this Dr. will help. Again thank you all who have been concerned for me.

I'm so glad you found a doctor willing to work this through and heal you instead of reaching for the prescription pad.

Hope you get better soon. We miss your posts and updates.
