    getting a little more nervous

As the date of my proceedure approaches on june 6th, I'm getting more nervous or maybe apprehensive about what is going to be involved. I believe it's called cardiovision. Has anyone heard of this or had it done? I guess I need some PT support!

I have never heard of it. Lots of prayers that your procedure will go smoothly.

David, I wish you all the best on June 6th. I don't know what it involves, but take a look at some of these links, and I'm sure you'll find out more. : http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=...&_sb_lang=pref

Try not to be too nervous! Best of luck - and a speedy recovery!

Randi, I now think that on June 6th it will be consulting with the specialist in his office instead of the actual proceedure. The proceedure will probably be done on an outpaitent basis in the hospital. Thank you for the links and the information about it. I'm STILL not looking forward to it!!

    I think you mean cardioVERSION???
    Cardioversion
    Preparing for Cardioversion

    What is an electrical cardioversion?
Cardioversion is a brief procedure where an electrical shock is delivered to the heart to convert an abnormal heart rhythm back to a normal rhythm. Most elective or "non-emergency" cardioversions are performed to treat atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter, benign heart rhythm disturbances originating in the upper chambers (atria) of the heart. Cardioversion is used in emergency situations to correct a rapid abnormal rhythm associated with faintness, low blood pressure, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or loss of consciousness.

    David,

You'll be fine. Don't worry about it (Unless the Doc comes in with a pair of jumper cables)

Good luck David, like my Mama use to tell me is to expect the worst so when less happens you can say "Geesh! I was so silly for doing all the worrying, there was nothing to that!"... (Let's Hope!) I will be thinking about you on the 6th so let us know something soon as you can!
