    Disciplinary actions on veterinarians

Hi PT friends! There was a story last night on our local news about some pet owners in Philadelphia. They took their pets to a vet with heartbreaking results. One kitty had surgery for UTI that got botched so badly poor little Oreo had to have extensive follow up treatment by another vet to correct the problem. Another puppy died from a routine procedure. This vet that caused the damage and heartbreak was suspended from practice in November but none of the owners knew.
But the investigators did provide some very valuable information that I'd like to share with all of you. When our sweet kitties are sick, they deserve the very best health care. Here's how to find out if your vet, or any vet, is in good standing with no complaints from pet owners or no type of disciplinary action:

    In Delaware contact:
    Delaware Board of Veterinary Medicine
    phone (302)744-4506
    e-mail: [email protected]

    In New Jersey contact:
New Jersey Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
    phone (973)504-6500
    e-mail [email protected]

    In Pennsylvania contact:
Pennsylvania State Board of Veterinary Medicine
    phone (717)783-7134
    e-mail [email protected]

These were the only sources provided. But if any of you want to check out a vet or file a complaint, you might want to start with your state's veterinary board. To see the entire story go to:

I guess that there are Bad Vets. I stopped going to a clinic after they supposedly cleaned Michaels teeth and three months later when he was getting shots My Current Vet said his teeth needed scaling badly.
My Vets a Good One who makes house calls and the Found Ctas actually like him, unheard of for a Cat.
