hi everyone I am really worried about my 14 week old puppy. Yesterday he was unwell he has no energy, and when you pick him up he cries like hes in pain. I got wormer today for him as the girl said he sounded like he had worms. Can anyone please advise me what it is? Has this happened to anyones puppy before? Also he is very unsteady on his feet. I would be grateful of any advice

I know you're worried about your puppy but the internet is not where you should turn to for help first. Make a call ASAP to your veterinarian and get an appointment.

There is no way someone on the phone, or the internet for that matter, can diagnose 'worms'. That is either done by seeing the actual worms or by a stool sample examined at the vets office under a microscope. Also there are more than one kind of 'worms' and just getting an over the counter general wormer will do nothing for some of the other kinds of 'worms'. Also overdosages of wormer (even if for the proper 'worms') can KILL.

Puppies without the full series of vaccinations, particularly if they've come from a pound or un-reputable breeder can have parvo which KILLS, sometimes even when treated!

Puppies can also swallow small objects/toys around the house causing severe intestinal blockages which can KILL if untreated.

It is not normal for a puppy that young to not have energy and to cry in pain when handled. For the sake of your puppy, get to your vet immediately.

Ditto... to the Vet you go. Unsteady puppy on paws sounds like something more serious than just worms.
