    Catching Shubys

I have baby Shubunkins in my 900 gallon pond that I am trying to remove for my sons school pond. The problem is that I am having difficulty catching them. I do not want to stress my adult fish too much doing this. I have been able to catch three...one one day, another late that same day and one several days later. I need to catch 4 more but I have them scared now and every time they see me they stay close to the bottom. The pond is 2-1/2 deep so needless to say I cannot reach down there and it is about 8 feet wide. I have tried not feeding for a few days and get them to the surface...well that worked for one baby. I do not want to have to drain my pond down but I cannot think of any other way to get them. Does anyone have any suggestions? They are the offspring from last year so they are approximately 3 inches, it's not like I am trying to catch little specks swimming around. I guess I should not have listened to my hubby, I could
catch them all the time when they were small, should have gotten them rehomed then .

We use a long fishing net on our pond. It'd reach down there no problem. I suppose if you had a length of hose that was 3 inches in diameter you could start a syphon and suck a few fish out of hiding.

Me and my friend always use a long 5' fishing net that extends, we got it at the petstore for 20.00 and it works great, and the pond we fish in is about 5 feet deep too. We also get dirty though lol, we always have sandals on and go right in the water

I know to some people that would be gross lol, but we're country hick girls lol.

Good luck catching the cunning fishies

IT DID NOT STRESS MY KOI AND ADULT SHUBYS OUT AS MUCH AS I THOUGH IT WOULD THEY SEEMED TO JUST MOVE OUT OF THE WAY,NO THRASHING. NOW TO CATCH THE REST AND TAKE THEM TO THE PET STORE.
