Alabama Dock Dogs Event, April 28 and 29

And, we're off! We are picking up David's mother in Louisiana and meeting MY parents in Guntersville, Alabama! (I haven't seen my parents since May of last year, so I'm excited!) There's a Bassmaster fishing tournament that weekend and they are having a dock dogs event, too. ESPN will be there, filming, although I'm not sure if they'll film any of the Dock Dogs events. We are going to compete in the 10:30 am and 1:00 pm waves on Saturday and the 9:00 am wave on Sunday. The finals are between 11 and 1 Sunday. If there's anyone in the area who wants to come watch and meet with us, that would be awesome!!!

Ok, i'm really just curious. Is there no one in Alabama? Or does no one care to meet us? Or maybe people aren't interested in dock jumping events? I haven't gotten a single reply from anyone about either event I've asked about. My fiance asked why no one has said anything and I didn't have an answer for him, haha. So. Here am I. Asking those who are viewing this to either pm me or publicly reply. My feelings aren't hurt, so don't worry about hurting them with your answers...I'm just really curious!

I can't think of any members in Alabama? It's too far of a drive for me. I'd looked at going to that event but we're not serious enough about the sport yet to drive that far. Good luck to you and Finn

Serious? Are you kidding? I'm just loving that Finn loves it! But, yeah, I know it's a far drive. David's sister and Mom are going with us, we're making a whole family trip out of it. One day, you and I will meet at an event!

Well right now I'm focusing on finishing up rally and then I'll move onto something else. I think it's easier for the dog if I focus on one thing training-wise ... not that dock dogs involves many commands Yeah, I'm sure we'll meet one day! If it were a couple hours more south, I could probably come. I have something planned that weekend now though, too bad.

Nope, too far for me. But I do read all of your dock dogs posts because it really does sound like a great time. If you ever come up this way we will be there.

You're right about both! one thing at a time is better. and dock jumping is just basic commands. sit and stay, really. anyway, can't wait to meet you! (as a side note, finn's ranked 18th out of over sixty dogs on the splash dogs site! yay!)
