    Lamb and Rice???

    Hi PTers,

Need more feeding advice for Noba. He's been on Innova Evo for a few months now, and in a previous post I mentioned a possible allergy to his food. Well I've noticed over the last month or so that his belly, inner thighs of his back legs are pink. Now this may be something that for some reason I overlooked, but I was thinking it might be a rash that is caused from food allergies??? He's not itching like he used to be.

I figure the best thing to do just in case is to switch him to a lamb and rice formula food... Since EVO is such a high quality food, I need something comparable in quality. Any suggestions? I was looking at Canidae and California Natural... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

What about EVO Red Meat? If he's doing well on regular EVO, minus the food allergy which is probably from the poultry in it, I'd probably try the RM.

California Natural and Canidae are both good foods too though. My dogs were on California Natural for about 10 months and I was pleased with it. They're now on Canidae Lamb & Rice and Tango's on Orijen, only because they were getting tired of the CN and I thought there was room for improvement so we decided to try something different and see how it goes.

I agree, I'd try the red meat version of EVO. A lot of dog foods contain lamb now and it's not as good of a source for allergies as it used to be when it was less popular.
If the red emat EVO doesn't work for you I'd look for something that is grain free and contains a less popular meat like venison, rabbit, fish, etc...
And keep him on the same food for at least 2-3 months. Also remember to pay attention to the treats that he gets. Make sure they are also free from ingredients that may cause flare ups.

Thanks for the advice. I had thought about EVO RM but wasn't sure if he would like it... guess I can buy a small bag and see if he agrees with the switchover... thanks again!!
