Ok so this is sort of dumb.

I'm going to this convention of sorts...you dress up as a character I guess. I've never done it before. I wasn't going to dress up, but my group wants me to.

My problem is I haven't found any characters I want to dress up as, or that suits me.

I picked one, but she has dark (black) hair, and I have light hair (dirty blonde) so my complection or whatever doesn't suit black hair.

So my friend said for me to pick this other one. She has pinky-gray hair...ok, it's lighter, but pink?? Oookay. I don't even like the character, she's almost never in the show. But my friend doesn't want me to go as the dark haired one. She says I don't suit her (my personality) etc. And I'm like...I'm just dressing up for fun, I'm not trying to act like anyone....And besides my friend is dressing up as a GUY and she says I can't dress up as this character?

Whatever. I like the dark haired one much more, but can I do black hair? I would use a wig. Here are some pictures of the costume

Anyway what do you all think? Can a light haired person do black? I'm sure there will be a lot of funky hair styles at this thing so I'm pretty sure pink wouldn't be all that strange....

I'll attach a pic of me so maybe you can tell me if I can do it or not.. (ignore the spots haha) Please be honest. I'll likely delete this after I'm satisfied cause this is so dumb and embarrassing lol

Do whatever you're the most comfortable with, Audrey. A light haired person can do black. I would want to feel at ease as much as possible. Please post pics when you decide.

I think the black would work fine on you. If you don't then go for the pink, but you'd look fine either way.

You said it! Do what will let you have FUN! That is the whole point of this convention, isn't it?

If you like the black one, do that one. If you're worried about your complexion, just put on some darker make up, or something. I think black hair on lighter skin can look great.

Are you able to go to some wig shops to try on some black wigs to help you make your decision?
