    Do you wear glasses/contacts?

I'm supposed to wear glasses but... I usually only wear them when I absoulutely need them. I can't see very far away and I can't stand to put anything close to my eyes so I won't wear contacts.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 3. My left eye was lazy and turned in. Adorable, right? I had to wear patches over it and switch it between eyes to make my left one stronger.

I can't see far away - I still wear glasses today - I hate contacts. Because I'm very good about wearing my glasses and only have them off when I sleep or when I'm swimming, my eyes have improved dramatically and I really don't understand why I still need them - but I'll wear them until the day the optometrist says I don't need them anymore!

I have glasses, but don't wear them all the time. They are needed for distance, but not for reading or looking at the computer screen.

Yes - and in my case "far away" means anything further than about an inch from my nose. I have worn glasses since the summer I turned 9 years old, not only am I extremely near-sighted, but I have an astigmatism in each eye. So without my glasses, not only are you blurry, but there's maybe four of you overlapping each other!

Yeh, I can't see far away clearly at all. =] Though this only became a problem 2-3 years ago.
I wear contacts, as I can't stand glasses. I tried to wear glasses, but I hate it when you look out of the corner of your eye and everything is suddenly blurry again.
    Soooo.. Contacts for me!

I wear glasses all the time (can't see well far away). I've never tried contacts, and probably never will because I don't think I'd be able to put them in or take them out easily.

I voted no because none of the options apply to me. I wear glasses but they dont have a perscription to them, they are juat clear polycarbonate lenses with the transitions lenses. I have to wear them, because i am 90% blind in my right eye, so they are purely for protection. I forget to wear them sometimes, but try very hard not to. If i got something in my good eye I would be in horrid shape. One time while driving i got something in my good eye, and had to pull over and try to get it out! I was frantic, thsnkfully it was just a speck of dirt! but boy was i panicking!! It sucks but i have learned to adjust!!

Glad I could vote twice as my left eye sees up close and my right eye sees at a distance so I wear them for near and far. I can actually see pretty well without them since I have one eye doing each job but if I read too long without them on I get headaches.

Sounds just like me! My glasses come off to shower and sleep, and that's it. I couldn't see my own hands without my glasses.

I used to wear contacts, in junior high, high school and college. When I got pregnant, I couldn't wear them anymore. My doctor said my eyes were just drier than normal due to the hormonal changes of pregnancy, and I would be able to go back to them after I had the baby. Guess what ... "the baby" is almost sixteen years old and I've never been able to wear contacts again.

Yes, Karen sounds like ME as well! Glad I could vote on both YES items.

I had contacts for 21 years and LOVED them. Just used my glasses early morning and late at night, before the contacts went in and after they came out. I really enjoyed contacts. It took me 2 WEEKS of going in to the doctor's office every day to learn to put them in and take the contacts out. They won't let you take contacts home until you can get them "on" and "off" easily. During that 21 year, no one but family saw me in my glasses, no one even knew I had contacts.

    Then I got older . . . .
Three years ago, one June afternoon, I headed out to the back yard to do one of my favorite things: sit in the sun with a glass of ice tea and read a murder mystery. I had my contacts in. I needed my $1 pair of reading glass to see the book, and my sunglasses on top of all of that. Sigh. Every time Dad asked me something, I'd look up, take off the sun galsses, remove the readers, put the sunglasses back on, and chat with him. Then my eyes started watering so I went in and took out the contacts and put on my regular glasses. And then the readers. And then the sun glasses. MY NOSE WASN'T LONG ENOUGH TO HOLD EVERYTHING IN PLACE !!!!!!

Called the eye doc for an appointment that same afternoon. Since then, I have not worn contacts ever again. I got a pair of prescription transitions lens with the built in sun protector. WONDERFUL! And folks who had known me for years asked about my "new" glasses, ha ha ha.

Nope, don't wear glasses or contacts. But if I needed them I would wear them.

Yes, and I wear them very proudly. I love my glasses and couldn't imagine my face without them. I despise contacts!

I love wearing my glasses, I think they add to my style/personality. I also have contacts but I don't like the way I look without my glasses on so I usually only wear them for sports.
