Lunar Eclipse ~ Saturday March 3rd

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070301...uYOpcAq7KHgsgF

Star gazers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa will have a front-and-center view of the eclipse in a late-night sky, with the zenith occurring at 23:21 GMT.

On the east coast of North America, the Moon will already be eclipsed when it rises at around sunset, while in Asia early risers will get a glimpse of the lunar blackout as the Moon sets.
We're forecasted to have snow here, so we might not get to see it. Hoping for clear skies though Saturday evening.

Thanks for posting this - I'll be sure to look up, just in case. If we can't see it, it looks like we get a second chance in August.

"On the east coast of North America, the Moon will already be eclipsed when it rises at around sunset, while in Asia early risers will get a glimpse of the lunar blackout as the Moon sets.
Total lunar eclipses normally occur roughly every couple of years, but those who miss the one this weekend will get another chance to see the moon disappear on August 28. The last took place on October 28, 2004."

Hopefully we'll be able to see something!

North Americans are to find a clear space, facing East, and station yourself there at sunset where you will see the lunar eclipse.

Here is a map of how it will look to the world:

No need to "get up early" ...
For the Eastern USA, it STARTS before MoonRise (at 4:30 PM),
    peaks at 6:21 PM ...
and is all over at 8:11 PM ... all times are in Eastern Standart Time.

Look LOW in the eastern sky ... starting around sunset.

The moon was full & low in the sky tonight about 5:45 tonight - no clouds, so maybe we'll luck out tomorrow & catch a glimpse!

Here too, I think. I will try to remember to look though.
I wonder if my guests tonight will mind if I bundle them all outside after dinner?

Hopefully we'll be able to see it from here! It is really sunny right now, so I don't think the clouds are gonna be a problem.

It is getting really cloudy here, and I think it's going to rain, so, no eclipse for Argentina
But who knows, maybe the weather changes by that time, and I hope it does cause I really wanted to see it.

Rats! (no offense to rats). Yesterday I watched the moon rising in a clear sky...and now I just came in from outside and it's "wall to wall" gray clouds. Guess I won't get to see the eclipse.
