Took a walk with Emma and Rocky (pics)

Went to see my parents today, and decided to take a walk with Emma again. Rocky wanted to join us, so he came with us. It was very obvious that he was exhausted, and he had some troubles walking, but my mother says there are still days when he doesn't have any problems at all.

Here are some pictures I took, you can see his rips in one of them, he has definitely lost weight. But according to his vet, he's living on borrowed time for more than a year now, so we're happy about each day he's still with us.

    This is Rocky:

And here's Emma. She was having a blast with all these branches she found:

Rocky looks really good, he does look quite a bit thinner! I love seeing pictures of Emma, she's such a gorgeous girl. Nothing like some nice cool (slightly muddy) water to quench your thirst, eh, Emma?

    Thanks!

Well, many people here say dogs schouldn't drink water from puddles, but you cannot avoid it when you live in the forest. Besides, Rocky has always done it, and he's 12!!

Aww, you can see Rocky's lost weight. I hate seeing dogs get older.
He looks very good for his age & health though. I'm glad he felt good enough
to go on the walk with you & Emma. Emma is the picture of beauty & health.
Such good looking dogs, both of them.

    oo what fun
I love Emma's long tail. Rotties with tails are so gorgeous I dont think they should be docked. Where did you get her gorgeous collar? I love it!
I love Rocky too, he looks adorable. He does look skinny though.

    Thanks for your comments everyone!

Docking tails is illegal in Germany for a couple of years now. 12 years ago, when Pocky was a pup, it was still a common thing, but I'm glad it's not allowed anymore!

Where did you get her gorgeous collar?
I guess it's from the pet store), but it's actually Rocky's. Emma has lost hers this morning, but I found it in the gras only a couple of minutes after I took the photos. Now they are both wearing their own collars again!

    I'll be moving there then.

Maybe I'll sound dumb here, since I don't have any old-rottie experience, but I was really surprised Rocky is twelve and not goinggray at all. Do rotties not gray out like other dogs? Just wondering.

Emma is beautiful. She just glows.

Wow, Rocky does look really good, although he could use a little more meat around the ribs. It's just so good that he is still around and able to enjoy life and that's all that matters. I hope he can live happily for even another year and enjoy another walk with you and Emma.

And Emma is such a gorgeous Rotty by the way. I love seeing pictures of her.

They're both beautiful! I adore Emma though. She's grown into such a beautiful Rottie girl, and her tail just adds to her beauty. I often wish my Morgan wasn't docked. I love the appearance of a tail on any dog.

Gosh I love both of those dogs! Their colorings are so vibrant and beautiful. I have to say, Rocky, although thinner, looks to be in great spirits.

I love Emma's tail, I don't think I even noticed that it wasn't cropped before!
