A tender soul is gone from the world now. My heart dog.
Little Dog came to us, unspayed, at the age of 5 (she would have been 9 this year) and the day was January 21st. She came from a Yorkshire Terrier breeder (who has since stopped and has had all of her dogs spayed) who rescued her from a puppy mill not long beforehand. They millers had bred LD every heat since her first.
She was promptly spayed and then we began to help her emerge from her shell. She became bouncy and loving with some folks. It was so fantastic.
Last Monday, she escaped from the yard. They looked for her but couldn't find her. Then she came back. She was wobbling and vomited a little. My dad figured she would be okay as she has been to the vet a few times for similar symptoms (she was diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur, along with some things that go with it. They're sort of mock seizures and trachea issues) and was turned away. He put LD in her crate to keep her calmed down and de-stress. He came back later and she was gone. She is now buried in the yard, with a little wooden cross above her grave.
Rest in sweet peace Little Dog. You deserve it.
