I was taking these pictures and started to notice she didn't look right. Went over and she felt lighter. So we called teh vet and rushed right in. She has lost 1 pound - 10% of her weight - in less than 3 months. Blood tests suggest it is hyperthyroidism. So we are trying to get the right dose of medicine now. Returned to the vet today for another blood check. She is still not herself, but doing better.







She was sitting so pretty in Dad's arm. So I grabbed the camera and took 4 shots. They all look pretty much the same. She moved.

Awwww! She is so lovely! It is easy to see with all that beautiful fur how you would miss a weight loss so don't beat yourself up to badly... Hope the meds do the trick and she is back to her old self again soon. She is to beautiful to be under the weather!

Ruffles! Sugar! How are you? You are so beautiful and I am very glad your Meowmy noticed you weren't doing right while she was taking your photo. I like the way you have your front feet positioned in the first picture!

I have a co-worker whose kitty is hyperthyroid. My co-worker keeps an eye on her weight, her use of the litter pan, and what she eats and drinks. The kitty is on medication and doing fine. I hope you will do fine too.

Gee, Cassie's Mom, I hadn't even noticed her feet, that IS cute! WOW!

Redhedd, Ruffles is about 15. I am her 3rd owner, she has been with me about 2 years. Her first mom died after 10 years; her secomd mom had to move into senior housing and they only permitted one cat.

Ruffles thanks everyone for their kind words. We are going to increase her meds a bit, and hope that is enough for her to feel better.
