    Sleepless nights

Archie has amazing hearing which is fine until its the early hours of the morning and a leaf lands on the conservatory roof, waking him up - quickly followed by the rest of us.

Lost count of the number of broken nights I've had - any ideas for getting him to sleep through. Both he and Tobey have beds in our room and Tobey just about bothers to raise his head

    Sleepless nights

Try some warm food maybe or just a can of wet food before bed time.. Can you give dogs warm milk?? If so that might help..

    Archie slept! I slept! Woohoo!!!

When we first got him we used to put them both on leads when we wanted a bit of peace and quiet in the evening - I did this to Archie last night and he just settled down and slept!!!

Maybe he feels that if I'm holding his lead he doesn't have to be on guard all night...............

    I have a possible idea-

I think it was lavendar oil works. Let me check on that, or maybe someone else here knows. If I remember right you put a tiny bit of the oil on your finger and either put it on the nose ( almost none does the trick) or was it on the chest as a swipe.. I think it was lavendar oil, but it releaves anxiety and calms them down. Whichever oil it is, its also in the dog calming plug in they sell for dogs for dogs with seperation anxiety. If it calms them down, it sure should work for your baby.

Yes Borzoid, I've used lavender oil before. Seems to work wonders.

I am not totally sure how it works, but its a oil that seems to make calm in dogs and cats. ( and even people so I heard). They even use this scent in those plugs ins that are supposed to calm dogs. Before we knew what was wrong with femka, she use to get worked up alot. Believe it or not, my mail lady ( yes- mail lady) gave me this tiny vile and said put a drop on your finger, and either put it on the top of the nose or in the throat area. Considering she already had a scar on her nose, and I didnt want to risk an allergic reaction with the scar, I put a drop on my finger and ran my finger down the throat. It worked!! She was mellow but happy all day...
