I want to name him Mufasa but my dad doesn't like it... any non-Lion King suggestions?

That's awesome, Kay!! Congratulations! I hope for your sake that nobody claims him and that he truly was abandoned. I have no non-Lion King name suggestions, as I'm awful with coming up with names. Why not name him after one of the hyenas? or another character in TLK if your Dad doesn't like Mufasa? Kovu isn't as interesting as Mufasa, but I really like it...

How about a Lion King - themed Name that doesn't require a pronunciation guide
to say it?

"Mufasa" is prolly neat - IF you know how to say or pronounce it!

I'd go for a Lion King character with an easy to read & pronounce name -
