Our "Stacking Journey"

I've been working on Travis' stack for about a year now. Im not planning on showing it's purely for fun. I thought it would be really fun to learn to stack a GSD properly and it is pretty fun IMO.

I have a few pictures to show our "Stacking Journey" and you can see our improvement.

Our very first stack. I believe Trav was 6 or 7 months here
Im almost ashamed to show this, its so horrible :redface:

And here is Todays. Travis is 1 year and 8 months old.

His front legs need to be pulled back a bit still. Didn't catch that until I looked at the picture on the Computer.
Im very pleased with how far we have come with this.

The right back leg- if you train to keep the paw straight even slightly in under the body, it levels the hips in the slope. But it does look pretty good!

Well its natural for them to turn that paw out, but if you push her right up to stand more over the foot, the foot will move in. Its like after you set the back leg, put your hand on the inside of her right knee- like lean in towards the dog and she shift her weight towards the center of her body. Then you turn the foot- she will shift again- and its done. After awhile no shifting will be necessary.
