So proud of my babies ... 1st and 3rd place at our first dock dogs event! (*2 pics*)

Buck and Luka earned their 1st leg towards their Novice Jumper title today at their first dock dogs event! Buck jumped 8 feet on his first turn and 9 feet 11 inches on his second turn, earning him 1st place in his class! What's ironic is that 9'11" the highest that the novice jumper can go to. If he had jumped one more inch he would have been last place in the junior class! Luka jumped 7 feet 10 inches on her first turn and 7 feet 8 inches on her second, earning 3rd place in her class. I am so proud because they were up against lots of other dogs, and this was their first time ever jumping off of an elevated surface into the water.

Today was so much fun for the humans and the dogs. Since it was our first time at a dock dogs event I only took Buck but then later my mom came up to watch and my dad asked her to bring Luka to compete. This was the last event of the season but the dock dogs crew will start traveling again in January. We will definetly be continuing in this sport, it is so much fun!

Kay, if you're reading this - I think you need to get Kiara into this! She would have a blast!

Mark and I have watched that before and can't believe how far those dogs can jump, it's just amazing.
Now we KNOW someone who has dogs who do it...how is that?!
