Sweet, buff, male cat for adoption!

Hey, just a new post to let everyone know that Bailey is still available for adoption!

Bailey is a 2-4 year old male cat. He is a medium sized and neutered. He is up to date on all his vaccinations and tested all negative.

He WILL require an adjustment period. I believe he was formerly feral. He is litterbox trained. When we brought him home, he surprised us. Soni and Isis had already been using Feline Pine for almost a year and he started using it straight away with no problems. He was using clay litter at the vets office.

After he gets to know you he is so friendly. He is always sitting in my lap, or trying to get attention, or whatnot. He has, also, recently started giving me kisses on my arms and is quite vocal! He does get scared of quick movements or loud noises. Once he gets used to the way you move and act he should stop acting shocked when your movements are a little speedier.

If there are dogs in the home, they must be respectful of his space. He is not fond of dogs but as long as they don't come up and try to interact too much then he doesn't have an issue. He'll even lay down next to Spanky (Chihuahua) sometimes. He is fond of other cats but I think others get defensive and then he turns on his guards and they stop getting along for a while. They do have their good periods, though! :P

He will probably ignore small children.

He does have an adoption fee.

If anyone is interested, please send me a private message or email me at [email protected] . However, I think this can be stated for pretty much all rescues, is that I am not going to adopt Bailey to someone that I don't think would be a good fit.

Please, feel free to cross post! I am willing to adopt him out further from my area as long as transport can be worked on (as our car is not the best to be taking on long trips anymore).

No offense or anything but I wouldn't trust anyone online to adopt my cat. You should meet the adopter in person first. You have absolutly no idea who this person really could be. Any person who REALLY cares about their cat wouldn't try to sell it on the internet. Especially on a chat room!!! If you really want to get rid of your cat and know that it's going to a good home, take it to your local adoption center!!! Doing it this way is just plain irrisponsible.

EXCUSE me? Who, exactly, are you? The internet gestapo? Sorry, don't think so.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe the local adoption centers are FULL and, in any case, not available to the general public? I just don't understand the logic behind your post. What did you think I was going to do? Stuff Bailey in a box and put a stamp on it to the first person who gave me thirty dollars? No, sorry, that's NOT how fostering works. I would never and have never adopted out an animal that I wasn't positive that it was going to be in the best possible environment for them and their needs.

I take it from your post you've never heard of Petfinder? Might want to check that out.

Oh, and just as a note, other PTers have gone this way. Their choices have never been unfounded, etc. So, I highly suggest you READ UP before you just go off spouting mendacious things that you CLEARLY have no idea what you're talking about.

Frankly, your "I dont meant to be offensive" is a pretty ironic statement since that is what you clearly intended it to be.

Ok whatever. Just saying my opinion. I really wasn't trying to be rude. I'm sorry. But the way you made it sound from your post sounded like you were just going to give it to the first person to give you thirty bucks. Sorry didn't quite understand your post.

Well thank you so much for assuming that I am that kind of person. It really warms my heart.

Where in my post AT ALL did I even hint at that I was going to give him to just ANYONE? Did you even READ the whole thing?

    Angelique,

Please take heart. You have some good guidelines, lots of info, and, most importantly, a good heart. I know that you would never let just anyone adopt Bailey. None of those here that rescue and adopt out are irrepsonsible.

So where are the rest of the Pet Talk members? Not even the usual "Love to, but can't right now" responses made it as a reply. Hmmmmmmmph.

Someone who has really read your post and who has also studied the social dynamics of this board would never have written that reply.

I apologized and I realize that was terribly rude of me. I even sent her a PM apologizing.

Good intentions by telling me that I am irresponsible for telling people that my foster cat is still for adoption?

    Really.
