Gouldian Finches

Hello Fellow Member,

I am looking to adopt or purchase (If price is right) some Gouldian finches. Colors are not important just as long as their colorful, I'm not looking for anything specific like breeders just that birds be healthy. The birds will be pets for my wife who has MS and is disabled. Her last finch just passed away at nine years old and she really misses him. Might also consider other breed of very colorful finches similar to Gouldian finch. If you can help me out. I'll be very grateful. I'm located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Thank you.

Gouldian finches are beautiful aren't they?!

Orange Weaver finches are wonderful too.

I also really like Java Rice birds. They have beautiful pearly pink beaks.

Around here there are quite a few finches for adoption at our shelter. Perhaps you should try petfinder.com and rescue a bird.

I was going to suggest petfinder.com as well. Also, though they're not as colurful, I love Shaft-tail finches...they have lovely soft coors and a beautiful song.

Java rice finches are also very cute! All the Gouldian ones around here are $150 or more.

I know your wife will love them, I'm getting a pair for Christmas.

Please do give them a large cage because I have seen many people put poor song birds in very small cages and only think of there music and not there feelings, anytype of finch or canary love's a good sized cage trust me there music will be more beautiful when they have more room.
