Kia soon to sport a new look - disappointing news

When I adopted Kia in 2001, she looked like this..

Then in 2004, she damaged her right ear with excessive scratching and shaking, making her look like this...

I was sad but soon grew to love the one ear up, one ear down look. It gave her character people said.

And so today I came home and while giving her some attention, I noticed the lump in her left ear.

Soon she'll have two floppy ears.

Allergies suck... I miss those perky ears.

Aww, she'll still be the prettiest girl, just the floppier-earred version.

But I agree, Kia, allergies DO rot. We're just more delicate than ordinary folks, you and I, sweetie. Have Momma Kimmie give you a bellyrub for me, okay?

I love flop-eared huskies! My soulmate dog, Sleet, is a floppy eared girl. Kia will still be beautiful! I'm sorry that the allergies are still affecting her though. Allergies are not fun--both Sleet and I have them too!

Thanks guys. She's still my blue eyed beauty.

The itchies really hit her hard these past two weeks. I was doing everything I could possibly think of to ease it. She's flopped herself in Daddy's chair looking miserable right now. Poor thing.

I called the vet and we just have to let the ear heal on it's own.

I'll be sure to take photos of her new look once the hematoma dries up.

Floppy Ears won't bother Kia one lil bit!

I can understand your disappointement - but I know Kia will be beautiful no matter what!

Floppy eared or not, she's a very beautiful girl! I will miss that cute little perky ear, though ! I can still feel your dissapointment, though. I love Buddy's perky ear and floppy ear, I can't imagine him with two floppy ears!

I understand your disappointment because her ears flop as a result of injury, but there really is a charm to floppy-earred dogs. I love watching their little ears bop up and down when we go for a walk. It is so cute. Kia is still a beautiful little girl.

    Poor thing!!
And you know what's funny... here we all are saying "Oh no... no more one floppy ear Kia" But ya know what... she doesn't care, heck, I'm sure she won't even notice (well... after it heals and the ouchie goes away)
That's why we all love dogs so much! They just don't give a hoot how they look!

Hugs to you and Kia! I hope she heals quickly!
Pass a smooch to her for me please!

She could be bald, and I would still think she was beautiful.

    Take care cute Kia.

I love Fenway, JoJo, Olivia and Nonnie!
