    Trumpet?

I just started playing in band, and I have to practise, at home. I'm not sure weather trumpets are bad for dogs ears. It is quite loud. I don't want to damage Jennys ears.

Actually quite cute, everytime I start playing, Jen will MOAN literally, moan ! I dunno if she hates it, or if she thinks she's singing. She is wagging her tail while she moans...so. She doesn't do this when I play piano, but I've been doing that since before I got her, so maybe she's used to it? Or is the pitch difference between trupet and piano enough to upset her?

So, is the trupet's pitch too high for dogs sensitive ears? Or is it just too loud? Or does she like it? I just don't want to hurt her.

Any advice will be MUCH appreciated.

My son also plays the trumpet in the varsity band. No it doesnt hurt the dogs ears. If you are just learning to play, maybe thats why she is moaning at groaning. lol Just kiddin sweetie. play all you want. Its just a different tone than what she is used to hearing.

I used to play the trumpet and my dogs would howl...especially Mini..and it didn't matter if I was on the whole opposite end of the house.

No, it won't damage a dog's ears. My brothers both played trumpet - one older, one younger, and none of our dogs showed any ill effect! Jenny's probably just "singing along" with you! She'll get used to you practicing given a little time.

I played woodwinds, and Gracie the Great Dane had no problem with me playing my clarinet, but my dad picked it up one day and tried to play it, and she went bananas! She barked, yowled, then tried biting the bell to make him stop! We were laughing so hard he finally couldn't hold a note, either, so she got her wish, and he never did that again!

No, it won't damage ears. If that were the case, Lady wouldn't try to stick her nose up the bell of my horn to figure out where all that noise is coming from.

My son started playing the trumpet this year too, and Lou Lou sticks her nose right into the end of it. He has to shut the door so she doesn't bug him!

LOL !! Same thing ! Except, with Jenny, her noes is so long and skinny, it fits right in that 'lil hole. One of these days it's gonna get stuck in there....

Thanks for the peace of mind, everyone
