    Remember my big boy Sammy?

    Hey Kitty PT!

Long time no post, right? I'm terribly sorry. I've missed everyone.

I thought I'd give a quick update on Sammy. I don't think I've posted much since Payton died, so I don't think you know the latest.

Well, when Payton was with us, Sammy never came out from hiding except to eat. Other than that, he was always under the bed or in the closet. Not a day or two after Payton died, did Sammy totally come out of his shell! He was playing and frollicking around like a little kitten. I was beginning to think that Sammy put a hit out on Payton! Well, Sammy is still doing wonderfully. He's taken to the new dogs very well and is still pretty active. The frollicking has reduced quite a bit, however.

I don't think he misses Payton very much, but I do.

Anyway, here's some pictures of my big boy at his best.

    And hiding in a box.

He's even willing to let his butt touch Emma's!

    Thanks, PT! We missed you!

Thanks Carla. What really gets me is that you offered to take him. I always think of the "what if I would have sent him to you." He would have still been alive.

Sweetie...I know what you mean. Lobodeb would have been a wonderful meowmie to Payton, and he would have had a wonderful loved life! And maybe been spoiled JUST a bit!

But accidents are accidents - and they happen any time, unexpectedly. It could easily be Carla in your shoes right now.

It's natural to feel some guilt - "if only this, if only that"...Be gentle with yourself.

On a lighter note - have you ever done a 'kitten growing up' thread on Payton? And where did you get his name?

I sure did! Here it is. .

His name is from Walter Payton, the great running back from the Chicago Bears. Sammy is named after Sammy Sosa (former Cub) and Maggy is named after Magglio Ordonez (former White Sox).

    oh adorable!

I had almost forgotten that slim, foxy silver-black face.

I can just see him knocking things off counters at the Bridge.

Hmmm....you know what? They have a HUGE room with counters, shelves and breakable things. As soon as these hit the floor and break, they disappear, and others magically appear to take their place on the counters and shelves!

    ENDLESS FUN!

You think Payton is in that room? OH YEAH!
