He lifted his leg to go pee. When male dogs are puppies they go pee like a female and then they start to lift their legs to go pee.

Not all male dogs lift their legs to pee so it really isn't an indication of age, as far as thinking he was younger than you were told. Cracker is 3-1/2 and still doesn't lift his leg to pee, although he never squatted either, he has always done a manly lean foreward and then just pees LOL. Sometimes you can't even tell unless you look, if he's going.

Lol ! Wee is a pee, and squatted is like umm what a cat dose when they go to the bathroom.
