Greetings from Bella and Ripley :)

We had a very large tree taken down on Friday. Afterwards the men ground up the stump which created lots and lots of good usable mulch and stirred up some nice dark dirt underneath. It also created an assortment of new smells for the dogs. When they go outside now they go right to the ground up stump. They went out this morning after a short downpour and came in filthy. I can hardly wait for the heavy rain that they are predicting for tonight. That will make for eight nice muddy paws tomorrow.

Here is Bella with her nose to the ground probably smelling some delicious decaying something or other.

The next two are just a couple of my sweetie after I called her to come up onto the deck. She has some dirt in her teeth. If she keeps sticking her snout into that stuff I'll have to teach her how to floss.

    Mom, you called?

    Well what did you want?

Lastly, The Ripster just standing on guard looking toward the woods for intruders in the form of squirrels, rabbits and birds so that he can go bark his head off at them.

    The end...

Vette I think it is more the angle that gives that impression. His tail sort of tries to curl over his back rather than stand up straight like Bella's. You can maybe see it a little better here.

Here is a picture of the tree earlier this summer (You can't see much of it, but it sort of had a double trunk. )

Here it is after the first few cuts.

    And now....

Thank you everyone for your nice comments.

Awe...after all these years of knowing Ripster, I never noticed his high held and curled tail. What a little sweetie! And Bella does remind me of Hannah when it comes to getting down and dirty. Lucky for Bella, she has a more fastidious mom who keeps her looking beautiful.
