    A Castle in the Sky

One of our adventures took us to an amazing 16th century castle located in the province of Carinthia. We hiked up a limestone mountain through 16 gates to reach the castle's courtyard, enjoyed an incredible musuem, wonderful views and lunch before hiking back down. A fabulous tour of Austrian history.

The photos attached are just a sample of what we experienced. Enjoy!

LOL Thank You! We took hundreds of photos - the countryside, cities and towns are so picturesque - a photographers dream. However, sure takes a lot of batteries to keep those digital cameras working

    Glad you enjoyed them, Betty

That is just beautiful! I'm quite envious. I just love that third pic.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

The Church and gardens is also one of my favourites. The Church is the original structure built sometime in the 15th Century. Much of the castle we see today was actually restored in the 16th Century. The gardens are stunning and perfectly maintained. Such a peaceful place.
