There are many veggies and fruits that are good for dogs. Stay away from onions, mushrooms, and grapes for sure.

Veggies and fruits must be pureed (chopped up in a paste thru the blender) to have any nutritional value to a dog. Dogs cannot digest the cell walls of fruits/veggies, so we have to break them for them in the blender.

Some Fruits and Veggies that are okay:

Romaine Lettuce - No iceberg as it has no nutritional value
    Parsley (small amounts)
    Carrots
    Pumpkin
    Spinach
    Silver beet
    Tomatoes (no stems or leaves)
    Red, green, yellow capsicum peppers
    Cabbage
    broccoli
    cauliflower
    apples
    bananas
    whole oranges
    papayas
    mangoes
    kiwi
    cantaloupe
    raspberries
    garlic
    sweet potatoes

I personally would not feed hamburger since it is very fatty.

I throw veggies in the blender and give them to Jasper every few days.

Hamburger *is* technically raw food, but like Kay said, it's full of fat...also, it doesn't take any effort to chew so you lose a lot of the benefit.

I was reading an excerpt from Tom Lonsdale's book last night that talked abouthow some people started buying hamburger for nights they "felt lazy" and their dogs wound up on a diet of primarily hamburger. That being said, I don't think you would do that, and I think the occasional hamburger treat would be okay. I feed ground turkey occasionally.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!
