    Everybody lives indoors!

Whenever I tell 'non-animal people' that I have five dogs their first question is ALWAYS -- they don't all live in the house do they? Of course they do! I wouldn't have it any other way.

I only have one cat that partially lives outside, well in the garage anyway. Everyone else lives inside. I have been known to fall asleep before letting the dogs in after potty break and boy do they let me know it. Ever had 5 howling dogs outside your window?

Inside, I would not have it any other way. Of course the dogs have a fenced backyard they go in often but they are all in the house while we are not home, at night, and most other times unless they want outside because they need to go potty or they want to run around.

Not trying to offend anyone, but I am a firm believer that dogs need time inside with their families, it makes me very sad when I see dogs that live outside 24/7.

You should see the looks I get when people find out all 24 dogs have house access! (Plus the nine indoor only cats!)

My dogs are outside during the day, except if they are sick. Seniors are allowed to choose and can stay indoors all day if they want to. Being a senior around my house comes with "Geezer Privledges". Geezer dogs and cats get away with much more than young ones! The dogs have house access when I am home to supervise. No huskies allowed unsupervised in the house in order to protect the cats! Some of them choose to use their house privledges more than others, but at some point they are all indoors.

Buffy is indoor, except when she has to go out to potty. The two cats, Grover, and Oscar are both indoor all the time. I wouldn't have it any other way.

    Inside!!!
(Heck... Bud doesn't even go out to potty EVERY time! )
I feel so bad for dogs that are left outside and forgotten about.
I tear up everytime I see one.
My husband is working in West Virgina and the house next door had a Female GSD that was left out on a chain all the time. She had fresh food and water all the time, but also had 3 kids running past her playing in the yard all the time and she would bark and cry while they were playing. All she wanted was attention. Oh it broke my hubby's heart! So he were throw her ice cubes or crackers or whatever he had. Then I gave him dog treats to give to her, he was ready to ask the people if he could take her! Then she was cleaned up one day, bathed... groomed. Looking good! Then she was gone!
My hubby had overheard her telling someone that she gave her to a family that had a huge yard and had the time to spend with her that she needed!

People that have dogs and just leave them in pens or tied up and have no interaction with them should not have dogs!

    Rats are inside
    Fish are inside
    Axolotyl is outside
Dog is outside but gets to come in as well, he likes being outside specially in summer (too hot in the house)
Cat is outside, she hates being inside, only comes in to eat and have a quick smooch then she howls til she's allowed out

I don't mind people having outdoor pets as long as they are not just shoved out there and forgotten

I couldn't agree more with this statement from Amy. Daisy and Delilah allow me to use the house occasionally

    Inside cat

I have a 100% inside cat, but a slightly different problem. My best friend takes her cat outside on the balcony - the cat wears a leash when she goes outside. My nephew's cat is allowed to go out on the screen porch without his leash, but "outside outside" he must wear it. My sister used to have two cats and they would crowd the door trying to get outside. I think I have the only kitty on earth who does not like to go outside! For example: I go out on the balcony and close the screen door behind me. When she hears the screen door close, she will come and sit with her nose 1 cm away, smelling the fresh air, keeping an eye on the clouds and leaves and whatever else is happening outside. She will sit just inside the screen door as long as I'm out on the balcony. If I open the door and try to coax her out with toys or treats, she hides under the sofa. I've carried her outdoors a couple of times, set her on a beach towel for a thorough combing during a major shedding and then carry her back inside- she will accept that. I know she lived under a porch early in her life, and the family that owned the house got her out from under there and into a no-kill shelter, which is how I got her. She will spend hours inside the open screen door on a nice day, just watching the trees and clouds and smelling the air. Should I buy a pet stroller? Should I just accept that she'll always be an indoor cat? Thank you from Cassie's Purr-sonal Servant in Illinois

Ooops i voted all outside by accident.. make that 1 more for all inside.

Of course everyone spends time outside, especially if it is nice and sunny but not too hot .
