To much water.... it is flooded here!

Wow, it rained so hard last night! The sewers in the streets canoot take all the water anymore, so this is the result:

Our house is right behind me

This is towards our neighbours. You can seepart of our driveway down right of this pic.

Another even worse problem is that our toilets don't flush away the "water"! This morning I REALLY had to go , so I drove to a shop nearby, using the toilet on my way out . I hope it stops raining, this is to much!!!

Good grief, what a puddle!! It looks like your house is safe though.

I'll post a picture of a map John has drawn (if I can find it), where the water was 10 meters above normal. Half of Denmark had disappeared and also a lot of the Netherlands. It looks really strange!!

Was that perhaps in 1953, Randi?? My parents were in the middle of it! They lived in Ostend then at the Belgian coast. Their house had 1m45 of water!! My brother was a tiny 9 months baby then, so the police brought them milk with a boat, which went straight into the house, up to the staircase

Just saw it on the evening news: it was really havy! Twice more rain in 6 hours, than usually in 1 month ! It will be accepted by our government as a "Nature-disaster"; which implies that the damage will payed back !
These are two pics I found on the website of our daily paper, De Standaard.

It looks ridiculous to see those people standing knee-deep in water when there is a blue sky above them!

Wow, that is quite a bit of water to get in just a few hours.

I'm glad to hear it's cleared up now. Tell Inka she would have needed to
paddle a boat in that weather.
