    Jumping into sliding glass door

Our 3.5 month old lab doesn't like to be left outside alone (unless it's just to do his business but then wants right back in). When we leave him outside for 10 minutes for 1 hour, he'll bark and jump up into our sliding glass door. Sometimes he gives up and is content to go explore the yard or just relax but then he'll come back and start the behaviour back up again. We have a friend who also has a 4 month old puppy who does the same thing so I'm wondering if this is normal for this age and they grow out of it? Does anyone have advice how to help them stop this behavior?

I think it's normal to just want someone to play with them outside! You should make sure your puppy has some toys to play with when he is outside. My Lou Lou always want to be were I am! She is 11 months now and getting better when I leave the room. Have fun with your puppy!

First off, don't give him attention when he is trying to get you to let him in. Instead when he gets bored and goes off to explore, then you come outside and give him praise. It teaches him that when he stops barking and jumping at the door that he gets attention that way.
