Two months ago, while making my rounds thru an area that many kitties have been dumped in, I stopped by Mrs. C's house to check out who was around. I peeked into the shelter she has set up on her back deck, and spotted three newborn kittens. Mama cat ran out, so I reached in and pulled out three tiny kittens all of one day old. Two were alive, and one was dead. I left the dead one in the shelter while I set up a trap with the 2 surviving babies in it, and watched from my car till mama went in the trap to get the kittens. I have an isolator fork that I put in past the trigger to contain the babies, and make it so mom has to go in to try getting her kittens. I trapped and covered her, and then reached in for the dead baby to bury her. On a whim I stuck her under my shirt against my skin, and after 10 minutes she started breathing a few times. I jostled her, and kept stimulating her and she came back to life! Thus her name became Miracle! Here's Miss Miracle!
Monkey face huh?
Miracle and her mama & brothers...
Her orange brother is a sweetie, but brown brother is still a bit jumpy. Mama was spayed and is in a sanctuary with my friend living with several other semi-ferals, and a lot of abandoned friendly ones as well. Patty had the back yard fenced in with cat fencing so the cats can go in & out of the barn but not escape the yard..I'm so envious lol! Too bad she's full up and can't take any more. The 3 babies are getting spayed, and neutered probably next week, and then off to finishing school! They need to be a bit more socialized to other people besides me to become well adjusted little kitties.![]()
