    Barbara Meets Mango

On Sunday Barbara and Siegmar came over to get an Aby fix. Mango and Peaches, of course, were ready to oblige.

    Barbara and Mango

    Of course Siegmar wasn't ignored

Siegmar was getting his camera from his camera bag when Mango decided he needed some grooming. Mango stepped off the counter onto Siegmar's head!

While we were eating lunch (shrimp tempura and salad) little Peaches popped up over the edge of the table and grabbed a shrimp from the serving plate. Her escape was foiled but that one became cat food that both Mango and Peaches enjoyed.

Mango played so much that he was a bit tired after Barbara and Siegmar left.

I took a close-up of Peaches. She seemed to be saying, "Get that camera out of my face and scratch me!"

How lovely that Barbara and Siegmar were able to visit your lovely Abbys! I know they would enjoy that, because they must have been suffering Abby withdrawal after a week away! You have captured really beautiful pictures here.

How cute from your kitties to take care of their guests like that! I am sure they appreciated very much

What very welcoming hosts! I will show these to Edwina and Eddie to see if they can learn a thing or two....though I think they will draw the line at hairdressing!....

    Green with envy

Oh Barbara and Siegmar, I am filled with envy! I would love to have met Randy and the cats! Mango reminds me a lot of my RB Graemer aka Grammy Crackers.

Oh well. You can't meet folks if you don't make reservations and plans! Maybe, just maybe, next year I will plan a trip to CA for the annual picnic!

    More photos please.

Randi, I hope you are feeling better and things are running smoothly!

What a wonderful California welcome Mango and Peaches provided for Barbara and Siegmar. I am sure that it gave them just the right "fix" to hold them a week longer until they can return home to their own Aby's.

Beautiful pictures............I love the one of Mango snuggling with Siegmar.

I'm sure Barbara and Siegmar felt very welcome! Getting their abby fix has surely made them happy. Mango seems very friendly, giving Barbara headbumpies and cuddling with Siegmar - what a show!

    Beautiful cats!!

Mango is the official greeter of the household and he's a real sweetheart. It seems as though no one is a stranger to him as he's just as affectionate with someone new as he is with people he has known for a long time. Some of that is typical Abyssinian behavior and some is his own special personality.

I forgot to mention that Bubbles, Mango and Peaches timid roommate, actually allowed Siegmar to take pictures of her. She doesn't really like people she doesn't know. For the most part she doesn't like most people she knows! She generally curls up in a cat bed in the closet and can even open the door to the closet when she really wants to "disappear". She's a sweet girl but has never taken on any Aby traits after living with Abys for five and a half years... Cats just don't learn social traits from other cats.

I suspect a Mango and Peaches "fix" would cure just about anything; just seeing their photos has put the biggest grin on my face. They are both adorable and so very gorgeous. Abbys have always fascinated me with their energy and their intelligence.

Do you take reservations? What a pleasure to be welcomed by your two little sweethearts.

During our trip up the coast we talked about Mango and Peaches all the time: they are the most friendly kitties you could ever meet. They made me miss Filou and Tigris but being younger than our two they also took us back in time to when our two were more energetic (and believe me they are energetic now ).
Thanks, Randy and Bev for having us there- noble Mango, funny Peaches and shy but elegant Bubbles will have a place in our hearts
