Another spawn attempt -[pics]-

Here's Papa (Jolene LOL). He turned out to be a boy. The LFS sold him to me as a girl. I was even convinced he was a girl.. he didn't fight when I put him in with another male, and didn't flare at his reflection. I think he must have just been feeling down though because he started bubblenesting almost a week ago.




The nest that confirmed that he wasn't just a girl who bubblenested a bit.

It seems to be going really well at the moment. They're both in the spawn tank together. I released the female a couple hours ago. They chase a bit but the female isn't fleeing away.. just swimming away slowly. They always seem to be close to one another. It's looking good!














I'm really not sure what to expect of this spawn. Probably some long finned babies with crowning but no full crowntails or plakats. By F2, I should start to see some crowntail plakats. Nooo idea how the coloring is gonna turn out.. dad's a marble hmpk and mom's a partial mask green ct. Should be really interesting.

Betta ears, a new disease. I had to look a few times at my red girl too. If it weren't for the ovipositor I might still think she was a boy.
