    What was your first pet?

What was your first pet? Do you have any special memories about him/her? What kind of animal was it? (post pics if u have any, please )

My first pet was a little black feild mouse that I found outside. I think I was about 4 or 5, im not sure. He had some kind of injury on her head, we didnt know what it was, but it was missing some fur on the top of her head.. I remember feeding it cheese and playing with it. I also remember that her life was very short, and I was real sad when she died. Ever since then I have loved animals!

''my'' first actually pet of ''mine'', lol, was a hamster named Milo. She was so beautiful. She came to us with her sister, and then Milo started bullying her because they were both in the same cage(oops). I think i chose the wrong hamster because Milo was more like MY sister and ''Peanut'' (my sis's hammy) was more like me!! LOL

We gave Peanut away to my sister's friend wich renamed her ''Tallula''. Milo was quite happier, after that. After a year or so, Milo developped a defiency of vitamin C. I had no idea what to do! After time, she had no hair, and then had a hole in her throat...

She was a really happy hamster even tou she suffered from that. I remember happier time, like when i brought her in my bed and she almost fell asleep. Or when i came to see her sometimes and she started making noises! so cute...

I was so sad for her, i didnt know what to do! i called the vets to learn more about it but they wouldnt tell me bull unless i made an appointement. it costs money you know...

At the end, i let her loose outside, i cried.........it was such a sad moment.

    She was a golden hamster.

Sorry to hear about your loss, cavialova. I never knew that could happen to hamsters. Hamsters are really nice pets, I used to have a teddy bear one myself. Its a shame they dont live very long at all.

I was told our first dog was named Becky, not sure what breed she was. The first pet I remember is Ashes, I think he was fox terrier.
    Scott is owned by 5 cats: Jackson, Fluffy, Twidgit, Ashton, Lexi;
and 3 dogs: Eli, Sassee, Ginger

I had a few pets before, that I was too young to rememeber, or don't have pics of (the snails, the fish). What I consider my first pet was my dog Oreo. she is now 12 1/2 years old and getting to be a better dog everyday. here are a few pics:

My first pet was an orange we found stray and named her Whiskers. She had a flea collar and was spayed, but when did all we could to find her owners, no one claimed. So took her in for six months. She was a great cat! But one day at thee end of the six months, it was very foggy and we would not let her out of the garage fearing she could not see and get hurt. But my Dad would not let her stay in and let her out. Later that day as my dad was driving home, he found her dead on the side of the road. She had got hit by a car. It seems to happen to a lot people's first pets.

My first own pet was a dog, Nappe (now at RB). We had few dogs and cats befor ehim, but he was my first own pet. He was the best dog ever, I loved going out for walkies with him, playing wiht him in the snow and so on.
    Here's a pic of him.

Nappe was a beautiful dog Niina! Oreo is adorable too

When I was little we lived at another house, quite close to a big road. We had some cats (can't remember how many, I was really little at the time) and they were all outdoors cats. I remember that one of them would always sit outside the house and follow us when we'd go for walks... Her name was Smulan (means "crum", very common cat name in Sweden). But one day she didn't come home and we found her dead in the road. It was awful... I remember how I was in denial and kept saying "That isn't Smulan! It's not her!" and in my mind I pretended that she was living happily somewhere... It hurts so bad to even think about it.

And then there was Dino... A collie that I loved so much. I remember how him and me always would curl up together and sleep on the staircase together... I felt so safe with him like that. Here's a picture of him, me and Titti:

I don't remember why, but he had to be put to sleep. If I remember correctly he had a hip problem and was in pain. All I remember was blaiming my mom for it, because one time it was raining outside and she forced Dino to go outside to pee although he didn't want to (he didn't like rain) and he slipped on the stairs and fell. I don't think that is what caused his hip problem but I blamed her for it when I was little in my hurt and longing for Dino.

And then there was Titti... Ok, I'm sorry but I can't talk about her right now. I already am close to tears from thinking about all these beloved pets that I lost and it is still such a short while ago since Titti and... sorry. I thought I could post about them without being a crybaby but I guess I couldn't. Sorry

hey cavialova, Gerbils live to be about 3-5 years old. Females live longer than males. My female gerbil is about 6 months old right now.

Well, my very first pet I really don't remember. All I know is that it was a tan lop bunny. My Mom told me that she got it for me when I was like two years old. But of course back then they had never heard of litter training rabbits, so they gave it to my great uncle who used to raise rabbits for meat. And that is that. But the first pet I remember having in the house was a ten gallon aquarium of fish. My first pet of my own, was my dog, Fridae. She's six years old now and my first "booboo baby." That's what I would call her when she was a puppy and my uncle Mike would make fun of me for it. Hehehe.

Now that I think about it, my first pet was not so odd.....it WAS a bunny and I was about 3 yrs old.
Then we had a series of dogs and cats and now 40 years later, I'm back to the bunnies!

My first pet, was a kitten named Socks! He got his name by his whole body being black, but his paws being white, so he became Socks! I don't really remember much about him, all because I was too young, but he was soo cute and so much fun! Sorry I couldn't give you more info!
