Any up-state NY folks here?

I'm thinking of going to the Adirondacks and more specifically, Lake Placid at the end of August.

Can you recommend anything to do and see? I was told the Olympic Village was cool and the Olympic museum. But is there anything else?

Also, are there any doggy day cares around there, where I can leave my dog for the day (while I'm sightseeing) and pick him up at night?

I live just outside of Rochester and visit the Adirondacks least once a year, I try to go more often than that though.
I actually plan to go sometime in August, hopefully I'll meet up with Shannon, (new mom to a veiled).

Oops, didn't realise the time. PM me, I'll let you know what I know about places in the area.

I won't be able to help with doggy camps but if we go at the same time I can watch him for ya for a day, I know I won't be doing anything without my dogs. lol
