    Peanut Butter and Hairballs!This from

this from my KatNips email letter:

    A MORE "NATURAL" HAIRBALL REMEDY:

Did you know that a teaspoonful of peanut butter
smooth, not chunky) fed to your cat works great
as a hairball remedy? (So say animal control
officers and animal health care technicians.)
If you give your cat a dose every couple of weeks
(weekly for long-haired shedding cats), it proves
very effective. As always, be sure to consult
your veterinarian if you have any question.

I will never know if it works or not. My cats wouldn't touch peanut butter if it was the only thing left on the planet to eat.

MY problem is that I LOVE peanut butter, and would end up eating it all myself.
I can not control myself when it comes to chocolate and peanut butter (and when they are together ...........forget about it), so I can not keep it in the house.

I have used butter for hairballs- my vet said it was fine.

LOL me too, but then we would never get hairballs!

    peanut butter.....mreow, got milk?
seriously tho, I have heard of them, but untill I heard Muffin gagging, I never realized how serious they can be
I have woke up a few times to her gagging, oh the poor thing!
it has been more lately so I am sure to give her the medicne for it regularly now.

what kinds do any of you use? I got this kind from my vet, called
laxatone, in a tube. has anyone else ever used this?

I use Laxa-Stat and I give it to my cats every other day. This seems to help a lot. Before I started doing this, one of them would throw up daily. Now it only happens occasionally. They don't like peanutbutter and I wouldn't want to use it because of the bad breath it would cause.

Actually when I had to give Kylie her pills I rolled them in PB and she didn't mind it.
Yorkster- did you see they have come out with chocolate and peanut butter cream oreos?
