Father's Day

This Sunday will be the second one without mine . Have had this made up to put in the Remembrance Room with some flowers at the crematorium

Awwww Denise, what a beautiful pic of your dad!! I know, this coming Sunday will be a hard day for you. 2 years ago, that is still very recent.
Try to be not to sad, and remember that happy smile he had, and all the happy days you spent with him. Put some fresh flowers on his grave and then do something you would have liked to do with him; he will know it, and be happy for you!

I know what you're going through, Denise. This will be my 9th year without my Dad. But I'm lucky in that when he was cremated, he requested his ashes be scattered in Long Island Sound (or as he put it, "Scatter them in NH Harbor, they'll make their way to LI Sound from there." So, that's what I did. I'm going to the pier where I scattered them and "visit". His cat Tigger is also with him.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy. I love and miss you.

I'm lucky that I have had a wonderful step father for 23 years. But, I miss my father tremendously, he's been gone for 20. Father's Day is a hard day in that regard. That's a beautiful card for your dad. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thank-You for starting this thread. This will be the 10th Father's Day without my Dad.


I miss him, oh, how I miss my Dad, I had such a wonderful Father.

Aren't we so lucky, our Father's were really there for us when we needed them. My heart swells with pride when I think about mine now.

This Sunday is not only Father's Day, it would have been my mother's 80th birthday, and my parents' 51st wedding anniversary, had not my mother been taken from us by ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. But we still have Dad around, so am wracking my brains as what to get him for Father's Day, 'cause when I ask, he says he wants "Nothin' - and you can put a bow on it!"

This Father's Day will be bitter sweet for me.

The bitter part is that it's the 2nd year with out my dad. On top of that, June 18th is also his birthday.

The sweet part is that it's hubby's first Father's Day. While I will try to focus on him, I fear I will shed a tear or two at some point in time on his special day. I feel terrible too, because he made my first mother's day so very special.
