    "Is that a Coonhound?"

Amy was the first person to ever say Ki was a Coonhound, and I agree, she looks SO much like a Black & Tan. NEVER have I had anyone -in person- ask me if she was a Coonhound until I came up north! Not even many people knew what a Coonhound was when I told them that could be what she is.

Between the "Dang, that's a great looking dog" and "I love her eyebrows" comments, I have recieved several comments as to wether or not she's a Coonhound.

Anyways, not so much point to this thread so I'll add a picture. (Any excuse to post a picture, eh?) Kiara in her new bed and one of her new collars. Yes, I spent my vacation going to pet stores.

Ki, look at you, you sure are getting a lot of neat stuff. I love her collar, looks great on her.

I know what Ki is, she's a lovely lady.

Not sure that it would have been my first guess, but I can see similar colorations, especially in the chest/legs? But, her ears/face sorta remind me of lab. Yet, she is very skinny. I don't think that is typical of either breed?? I suppose it's possible.

Whatever you are Ki, you're beautiful. She really could be anything.

Oh and the pet store thing....that's exactly what I spent all my money on when I went down to florida/utah

She was an adorable puppy and has become a gorgeous dog! I would never have guessed Black and Tan Coonhound, but, whatever she is, she's perfect.

What a great picture of a beautiful girl! I think that is a great way to spend a vacation. And it looks like Kiara thinks it is a pretty good idea too.

Did I tell you that a couple of months ago a dog started coming to our dog park that looks a lot like Kiara. When I asked her Mom what breed/mix she is her Mom said all she knows is that the shelter said she is part coonhound. And the funny part is her name is Kara, so when she first came I had to ask the girl twice what she was calling the dog. It was very eerie.

I don't see black and tan coonhound, she looks more rottie to me. Whatever she is, she's pretty.

To me her snout is too slender to be a coonhound or a rottie, but maybe that comes from what she is mixed with.

She is 100 percent cute thats for sure.

    yes, they do.

Buster is a coonhound and he has long ears. maybe not every coonhound has long ears, but the majority of them do.. she also could be a dobie mix if not rottie?

She does look kind of Coonhound like but she is lacking the ears and the jowls, maybe she's mixed with Doberman or Lab too. Who knows, she sure is gorgeous though. Her collar looks great on her! That's how I spend my vacations too...lol.

Oh boy, that would be an expensive vacation for me! I don't see any coonhound. I see a racy rottie. We've got a pure rottie at the kennel right now, with a full tail so of course everybody thinks he's a mix.

My co-worker had a black and tan coonhound (possibly a mix, she was in a litter of pups that a coonhound breeder dropped off at the shelter) and trust me there's a definite resemblence. I'd guess you would have had to have met Pookie to believe it. Kiara's definitely a mix but I still really think she has black and tan coonhound in her. Whatever she is, she's cute!
