In January I took in a lovely tuxedo foster who was supposed to be pregnant. I called her Velvet, because of her lovely coat and matching temperament. It turned out she wasn't pregnant, just...fluffy!When I took her to the vet to verify this, and also to get her shots, FIV/FLV test and general checkup, they fell in love with her. Their resident cat had passed away a number of months ago, and they were looking for another. They decided to think about adopting Velvet.
Two days before she was due to be spayed, they asked if they could have her until the appointment to see how she'd acclimate. She came through the spay really well, and was being a sweetie at the vet's.
Along with being a pampered pet, she will become a blood donor! For a cat to do this she has to be very healthy, have a mild disposition (so it will be easy to draw blood) and above a certain weight (like people.) She has Type A, which is like type O for people. So she will not only have a wonderful pampered life; she may be able to save the lives of other cats!
Paw applause to Velvet!![]()
