I have a 10 month old kitten named Shiva. I was soley a dog person until this little Miss Priss pranced into my life and demanded saving. I raised her with my 2 year-old puppy and she has taken on mixed characteristics. They both have. She will groom him....often right before she bites him. She does that to everyone, actually. Just bites them out of nowhere when they are petting her. Is that normal?

But anyway, my cat hates other cats. She will growl and chase them. It's kind of funny because it almost sounds like she is trying to bark. But the thing I have noticed is I am it. If anyone yells at her she just shrugs it off and goes about her business. If I yell at her, she follows me around meowing helplessly until I pet her. If someone calls her, she may or may not go up to them. And usually not all the way. And you can forget it if I am giving her attention. But she is highly affectionate with me. except for the random biteing thing. Is all of this normal for a kitten her age?

Cats and kittens will often nip when playing or petted - it stimulates them, and some call it a 'love nip'.

Do the bites hurt? Maybe handling her more carefully - a gentle "no" when she bites and stopping the patting or playing for a moment will help train this into her before she gets big adult teeth!
