Rebellious peeing!

My dog Scooby was recently diagnosed with an ear infection that turned into a secondary skin infection over his body. This caused his hair to fall out in odd patches and his ear to be inflamed.
Well the treatment requires me to give a pill 2 times a day and then add a "Ear Rinse' a half hour before adding the additional ear medicine drops. It's not going so well so far. He's splashed me and won't eat his pill all the time.
The problem I am having is that he hides from me and won't come near me because he thinks I am going to do the "medicine" thing to him. I only have to do the medicine thing every 10 or 12 hours.
He's taken to hiding under the bed or hiding in his "safe" spot by the couch. He won't respond to me! I am NOT going to force him out or anything like that.
However, he is quite upset with me. I let him outside to go to the bathroom and brought him back in. He then went up my stairs and PEED in the hallway to the bedroom! Then came back downstairs as pretty as you please!
Now mind you Scooby had a stroke and is partially paralyzed on the right side. He can't get up the stairs unassisted lately. It takes a GREAT effort on his part to get up the stairs. He can do it but it takes a long time and persistence.
He must have been extra angry at me because he went up the stairs with little problem. Peed and came back down the stairs! He knows to go outside and was JUST outside a few minutes prior.
My question is what do I do to get Scooby to know that I am still wanting to "play" with him but he's got to get the medicine too? I tried cuddling with him on the couch. A place he is NOT allowed at ANY time. I did allow him on the couch with me but he tried to push me off!
What is a good way to get Scooby to trust me without his smart behind acting up? This dog is SMART!!!

Is Scooby on Prednisone? If so what MG dosage is he getting? About giving it to him, can you wrap it in a piece of meat so he doesn't know he's getting the pill?

freind of mine wraps pills in kraft singles cheese and the dogs don't even know they have had a pill.

The wrapping part works so far. I used a piece of ham lunch meat this morning. It's just that he refuses to listen to me or hides most of the day avoiding me. It's like he doesn't trust me.
It just went over the edge when he started intentionally urinating. I feel like I have upset him too much.
I did adopt Scooby from the dog pound about 5 years ago. He supposedly was a "run away". He was in good condition and seemed very loved. I was surprised no one had claimed him.
It was shortly AFTER I adopted him that I discovered he is EXTREMELY hypo-sensitive. He is allergic to fleas. He has to take benadryl. I've got him taking a whole pill every so often for his "outbreaks". I don't give him a pill everyday so he won't grow a tolerance for benadryl.
He's used to taking medicine I presumed. I wonder why taking this antibiotic isn't going so well? Maybe there are side effects I am missing? Could the medicine for his ears be bothersome? I just can't tell besides the initial "swishing".
All I know is I miss my Scooby! I just want to cuddle with him and let him know it will be alright!

Sounds like your in a stressing situation. I'm not sure exactly how I would handle it either. When he pees, he isn't intentionally doing it to annoy you or get revenge for you giving him medicine. Dogs just don't have that train of thought.
I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe you could ask your vet, could some of it be side effects?

I agree. Please talk to your vet. A dog doesn't intentionally pee just to bother us. There is a reason.
