    Agility?

I have yet to convince my mom Sassy can do agility. Can Malteses do agility? She's 8 years old but she hasn't lost her step. Are there certain groups dogs are placed in when they begin agility?

All dogs, all shapes and sizes can do agility. My sister's 12 year old Labrador loves doing agility, and has no problem with it. There are different groups you need to go to, you'll start at 101 or Beginner, and move up to harder classes. You can go here:

    for more information about it.

There was a pug in one of my earlier agility classes. We're no longer in the same class b/c they started separating the classes by size. Go for it, it's tons of fun!

Well, if she enjoys it, there should be no reason why Sassy can't do it!!! I mean, my three-legged girl, Jesse, LOVES when I set up make-shift agility courses in my backyard!

When I started agility, a dog in our class was really old and slow, but by the end of the lessons, he was running playfully trying to keep up with the younger dogs...

I think he was out of shape, he was getting overweight and his owner didn't give him much excercise.

Agility also does a good job at reinforcing obedience.

Go for it, it's really fun.

Yes. They can. Gigi is a doxie and she can (and loves) do it. They just have lower jumps.
