    Fuji FinePix E510

My Mom pointed this out to me.. my birthday is on Tuesday and she said we are going to go look at it..

Does anyone have this camera or knows someone who has it?

The only things detering me is the smoothness of the pictures it takes and the poor indoor quality of indoor pictures.

Apparently it has great photo quality, it is equivalent to a 28mm wide angle camera...

What I like about it is how it is great with outdoor and macro shots.. and it blurs out the background on portrait mode!!

    Any comments?

I really don't understand the 'smoothness of the pics' thing
and I think its fine for indoor pics.

Smoothness is like.. it blends things together.. that the images aren't very sharp and crisp.

I don't think that has much to do with the camera. It's more in the hands of the photographer.

No, it's the camera. I've done enough research on digital cameras in the past year and read enough reviews on this camera from companies.

I've checked this camera out before. It does have a crappy auto focus (which I'm assuming is what your talking about? ) however there are ways to fix that.

See, it can take good indoor pictures. Check out some of shais_mom's pictures

From what I've seen it doesn't look the the greatest camera but I don't know what you are going to be using it for so maybe it fits your needs I'd reccomend a Nikon or Canon over Fujifilm anyways.

lol, No, it's not the autofocus. Let me get you a sample picture from one of the reviews:

This is taken with a Canon:

    This is with the Fuji:

Notice how the Canon is nice and crisp while the Fuji is smoother?

    nope - b/c the links don't work -
so you don't want smooth you want nice and crisp.
If I have been disappointed in any of my pics it isn't b/c of the camera it is b/c of the operator!

HUGE difference! Why not just get a Canon? I haven't heard many good things about Fuji.
